    Source snapshot and validation limits

    The official repository identifies main as the published v3.0.0 line. This tool pins its 8 October 2026 snapshot, including upstream fixes after the original 3.0.0 tag. The tag contains malformed JSON in some schema files; this tool does not silently repair them. The vendored snapshot is unchanged and hash-verified at build time.

    Ajv2020 8.20.0 validates Draft 2020-12. Standard formats and the upstream uint32 format are checked. Descriptive annotations do not add constraints. Values are not coerced, defaults are not inserted and extra properties are not removed. Duplicate JSON keys, unsupported versions and local size/depth limits are reported separately from schema errors. Only the first 100 errors are displayed.

    A valid schema result can still accept values that the PDF or protocol behavior rules disallow. If GitHub material differs from the published document, the official VDA PDF takes precedence, as stated in the repository notice.
